During the winter months in the UK, there’s nothing better than sitting down to a warm, filling meal in the comfort of your own home. The best part about home cooking is that anyone can do it, as long as they have the right ingredients. Grass fed beef is brilliant for making healthy, satisfying dishes as it can be used in everything from curries to hotpots.
Grass fed beef is a healthy option because of its high levels of vitamins and Omega fatty acids. Not only does it provide a healthy dish, grass fed beef also delivers great flavour so you can enjoy a nutritious meal that doesn’t compromise on quality.
A popular wintry dish is the beef and potato pie, using puff pastry for that seasonal touch. The first step is to preheat the oven to 190°C. Then toss together all the main bits into a pie dish or roasting tin. This includes a little bit of olive oil, the potatoes, the beef, and as many as your favourite vegetables as you like. This should be roasted for around 25 minutes until tender, but make sure the beef and vegetables are turned occasionally so they cook evenly.
Now it’s time to remove the tin and stir in the rest of your frozen vegetables; and cream if you desire. Next, place the puff pastry over the top and tuck the edges down. After brushing the pastry with a glaze of egg, it should then be baked for around 25 to 30 minutes, depending on your oven. When golden brown, serve to your family and friends and enjoy this seasonal dish.
