Scheduled for mid-May 2013, the Devon County Show is an exciting agricultural showcase set to include a pair of prestigious cattle shows. Work has already started on the preparation for this, with one of the first jobs being marking out the showground.
Eight contractors have been put together to begin marking the ground during the next month, and this includes building several marquees that will be about the size of four football pitches. It has been said by the show’s secretary that the building of these marquees is a huge task, and the team has a lot of work ahead of it over the next few weeks, as anticipation grows in the area..
The marquees are set to hold a mixture of sheep, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more during the show. This trade space has already sold out, filling up to the max while more people put enquiries in.
The Devon County Show is actually in its 118th year and has a range of entertainment and livestock to show off. It is hoped that the show will see more than 90,000 attendees during the three days of the event, with thousands of animals and numerous arenas for shows.
Agricultural shows are rising in popularity now that there is more of an interest in where food comes from, and this is especially true for grass fed beef and the cattle reared to produce the best kind.
The show is scheduled for May 16 – 18.
